Privacy Policy

The Short Version

Keepsy is a photo and video cleanup app that runs entirely on your device. Your photos and videos never leave your phone. We do not collect your personal information, and we do not require you to create an account. The only third-party service in the app is Google AdMob, which displays ads and collects limited device information for that purpose.

1. Information We Collect

Keepsy does not collect, store, or transmit any of the following:

• Your photos or videos (all processing happens on your device)
• Your name, email address, or contact information
• Your location
• Your contacts, calendar, or call history
• Camera or microphone data
• Browsing history

Information Stored On Your Device Only

The following data is created and stored locally on your device. It is never sent to any server:

• Swipe preferences and settings — stored in Android SharedPreferences on your device
• Usage statistics (number of photos swiped, storage freed, streaks, achievements) — stored in a local Room database on your device
• Image hashes for duplicate detection — computed and cached locally on your device

You can delete all of this data at any time by clearing the app’s data in your Android settings or by uninstalling Keepsy.

Information Collected by Third-Party Services

Google AdMob (Advertising)

Keepsy displays ads through Google AdMob. AdMob may collect the following information for ad personalization and measurement:

• Android advertising ID
• Device information (device model, OS version, screen size)
• IP address (used to estimate general location for ad relevance, not stored precisely)
• Ad interaction data (impressions, clicks)

You can control ad personalization in your Android device settings under Settings > Google > Ads. You can also reset your advertising ID or opt out of personalized ads there.

Google Play Billing

If you purchase the “Remove Ads” upgrade ($0.99), the transaction is processed entirely by Google Play. Keepsy does not receive or store your payment information (credit card number, billing address, etc.). Your purchase is tied to your Google account and managed by Google. Keepsy does not sell, rent, or share your personal information with anyone.

The only data that leaves your device is the information collected by Google AdMob as described above, which is governed by Google’s privacy policy. If you purchase the ad-free upgrade, AdMob is disabled entirely and no data is shared with any third party.

4. Data Retention and Deletion

Since Keepsy stores all user data locally on your device, you have full control:

• To delete all Keepsy data:Go to Android Settings > Apps > Keepsy > Storage > Clear Data
• To remove everything: Uninstall Keepsy from your device
• Deleted media files:When you confirm deletion in Keepsy, files are moved to Android’s system trash and can be recovered for 30 days before permanent deletion

We do not retain any data on our servers because we do not operate servers that receive your data.

5. Children’s Privacy (COPPA)

Keepsy is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Since Keepsy does not collect personal information from any user, there is no mechanism through which a child’s data could be gathered.

If you believe a child under 13 has somehow provided personal information through the app, please contact us at support@trykeepsy.com and we will investigate promptly.

Google AdMob in Keepsy is not configured for child-directed treatment.

6. Your Rights Under GDPR (European Users)

If you are in the European Economic Area (EEA) or the United Kingdom, you have the following rights:

• Access and portability — All your data is already on your device and fully accessible to you.
• Rectification and erasure — You can clear app data or uninstall Keepsy at any time.
• Restriction and objection to processing — You can disable ad personalization in your Android device settings.
• Withdraw consent — You can revoke storage permissions or uninstall the app at any time.

Because Keepsy does not collect personal data on any server, there is no remote data to request, export, or delete. For questions about data collected by Google AdMob, please refer to Google’s data privacy tools.

7. Your Rights Under CCPA (California Users)

If you are a California resident, you have the right to:

• Know what personal information is collected about you
• Request deletion of your personal information
• Opt out of the sale of your personal information

Keepsy does not collect personal information on its servers, and we do not sell personal information to any party. For data collected by Google AdMob, you can opt out of personalized advertising through your Android device settings.

8. Permissions

Keepsy requests the following Android permissions:

Keepsy does not request access to your camera, microphone, contacts, location, or any other sensitive permissions.

9. Security

Because your data stays on your device, it is protected by your device’s own security measures (screen lock, encryption, biometrics). Keepsy does not transmit your personal data over the internet, so there is no risk of server-side data breaches from our end.

10. Changes to This Policy

If we update this privacy policy, we will post the revised version at trykeepsy.com/privacy with a new effective date. For material changes, we will also notify users through an in-app notice.
